AI Assessment
Find the AI worth doing
Most teams don't need an AI strategy deck. They need to know which parts of their work AI can genuinely help with, and which are hype. We map how your team works and hand you a ranked, costed shortlist you can act on.
What we do
Inside this service
Workflow review
We walk through how your team actually works with the people who do it, and document where time really goes.
Opportunity mapping
Every candidate for AI or automation, scored by hours saved, effort to build, and risk.
Tooling scan
What you already pay for that can do more, versus where a purpose-built tool earns its keep.
Ranked roadmap
A short, honest shortlist: what to do first, what to skip, and what it should cost.
Method
What we examine
Where the hours go
Time spent per workflow, measured with the people doing the work, not estimated from the org chart.
Build effort
How hard each opportunity is to actually ship: data access, integrations, and edge cases included.
Risk
What happens when the tool is wrong, and whether a human checkpoint belongs in the loop.
Adoption likelihood
Whether the team will genuinely use it, because a perfect tool nobody opens saves nothing.
Data readiness
Whether the documents and records an AI tool would need actually exist, and in what shape.
What you already own
The capacity sitting unused in tools you already pay for, before any new spend.

Problems this service exists to solve
- A team curious about AI but unsure where it actually helps, and wary of expensive guesses
- Vendors pitching tools that don't fit how you work, with no independent way to check the claims
- Repetitive admin quietly eating skilled people's time while the interesting work waits
- No clear way to compare one AI idea against another, so nothing gets decided
- Past software purchases that never got adopted, and no appetite to repeat that
- Leadership asking for an AI plan while the people closest to the work are skeptical
What you get: A ranked, costed shortlist of AI opportunities you can act on immediately, and permission to ignore the rest.
How it runs
How this engagement runs
- 01
Discovery call
Free · 30 minA free 30-minute call about your operation and what's slowing it down. We agree whether an assessment makes sense, and at what scope, before you spend a dollar.
- 02
Stakeholder interviews
2–4 daysShort interviews with the people who do the work, not just leadership. The best automation candidates are usually invisible from the org chart, and this is where they surface.
- 03
Tool and workflow audit
2–3 daysWe inventory the systems you run, what they cost, where data is re-typed, and where the manual gaps are. What you already own often covers more than you think.
- 04
Opportunity scoring
2–3 daysEvery candidate scored against the dimensions above: hours saved, build effort, risk, adoption likelihood, and data readiness. Ranked, costed, and honest about what to skip.
- 05
Roadmap delivery
1–2 daysA written roadmap with a phased 30/60/90-day plan, walked through in a working session. You leave knowing what to do first, what it should cost, and what to ignore.
What you get
Deliverables

Fixed fee per assessment. Often the first step before an AI Automation or AI Strategy engagement.
Every engagement starts with a free discovery call. That's where we settle exact scope and a fixed fee, so the number on the proposal is the number on the invoice.
Questions
Frequently asked
Will you recommend tools we don't need?
No. The point of the assessment is to tell you what is worth doing and what isn't. Often the answer is to use what you already own better, and we will say so.
How long does the assessment take?
About a week for a focused single-workflow review, up to three weeks for a whole-operation one. Each tier above lists its duration, and we confirm timing on the discovery call.
Who needs to be involved on our side?
A sponsor to open doors, and short interviews with the people who actually do the work. Most participants spend well under an hour with us.
Do we have to build with you afterwards?
No. The roadmap is yours, with enough detail that any competent builder can act on it. If you want us to build it we can, but the assessment stands on its own.
What do we actually receive at the end?
A written roadmap: workflow map, scored opportunity list, effort and cost estimates for the top items, and a phased 30/60/90-day plan, delivered in a working session.
Can funding cover part of the cost?
Sometimes. Assessment and advisory work can fall under provincial and federal programs. We flag likely fits during scoping; see the funding note on our pricing page.
